With a Mariachi band and Folklorica dancers to open the show, plus the incredible films created by the students and teachers from Palm Springs Unified School District, DIGICOM 2015 was a smash hit!  The audience numbers surpassed 1,000 and the standing room only crowd was not disappointed.

Over the course of the evening, 90 films from grades K-adult, were shown in whole or in part; student scholarships totaling $30,000 were given to 26 Senior student filmmakers; and 35 teachers received classroom equipment packages which totaled over $32,000!

Films this year ranged in diversity.  From the charming video in which kindergartners interviewed their grandparents to learn about their favorite toys to films recreating the theme of 1984, we were delighted, educated, and entertained.  Among the featured films was a riveting montage created by DIGICOM student intern, Timothy Lentz.  This movie was created from over 25 K-12 student video submissions focusing on bullying and self-esteem issues and caused all to pause and reflect.

We laughed, we cried, and, most importantly, we met as a community to share and celebrate the talents and voices of our students!

The DIGICOM team is busy uploading all of these films to the DIGICOM portal on Vimeo.  You can access them at
